Dirty Little Secret

This page is for you guys who are DLS fanatics on my wattpad page. You guys are really what has made this book possible! It's wonderful logging on everyday to see the extra thousand viewers on DLS, and the funny and encouraging comments you guys post :3

Of course there is always room for improvement. So let's get that started. Let me show you what my schedule looks like, so you guys don't think I'm abandoning DLS completely.

And I might even be starting up a new Girlxgirl book for you guys. I know you love Lyric and all, but that book has got to end sometime.

So Monday-Friday I have school from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. I take the bus home so I get home at around 5, and then I have 2 hours to do whatever I want, which is usually just  doing homework or doing requests that my friends or Church give me (drawings, building websites, video production, etc). And then I take a shower, do my hair, do more homework, and then end up going to bed at 12 a.m, and wake up at 6:20 a.m. and do it all over. Weekends I am usually busy, but on the rare weekends I'm not I do upload chapters. So! My solution, is that Saturdays are all your days.

So on Saturday I will sit down and type up those chapters you deserve! Of course there will always be updates on my website about why I missed the deadline which you can find here >>

Keys To Success

And if you have any questions or comments, you can always fill out the contact form below. If you also want me to update you on any new DLS updates via email, I will gladly do so!

I want a more personal connection with my viewers and I wanna get their opinions on my story, as well as their ideas! So hit me up :3

People are always asking me how I got my book to be so "good", which in my opinion it was poorly thrown together. But here's some ways I can help you guys get yourselves up there, and it's not by depending on other people to promote you.

And of course there is a lot more to this than just what to do. It also comes with imagination. And also just the dedication to sit down and create this entire story.

I can't sit down with you and help you try and create your story step-by-step. You got to do some things on your own. Hopefully this helped even a little bit!

  • Make A Good Plot Line

No story is complete without a good plot line.  Think to yourself. Why am I writing this story? Why does it need to be told? What is the main crisis here? In Dirty Little Secret the whole plot is the internal conflict of Lyric's happiness. The abusive Dad, the clingy brother, the heart-breaking relationships. It's all leading up to some sort of climax.

  • An Eye-Catching Title

Make yourself a title that will make people curious. Make people wonder what the story is about. A good summary/prologue also helps this. Dirty Little Secret fits the stories plot line AND is also a familiar title because of the reference to the song.

  • Give Your Characters A Face

In my story I put pictures of the characters so you guys can get more familiar. Plus that's how I visioned them. It makes it all more real. For me, and for my viewers. It makes a more personal connection.

  • Make Your Character Relatable

Maybe not everyone can relate to Lyric's extreme situation, but the people who can know what's going on and can really get into the book. Plus everyone knows what it's like feeling helpless and broken-hearted. Give them a good past, something that will either move someone's feelings. Or make them an ordinary person who suddenly strikes into this incredible life, like in super-hero stories. Or Lord of the Rings.

  • Make It Cross With Your Own Life

A lot of the things that happened in DLS is what happened to me. Which makes it easier to write about, because I can picture the moment completely and how it made me feel, versus how it makes other people when they hear the story. You can go ahead and be dramatic as well. People just eat up that drama.

  • One Word: Grammar.

Please for the love of God, if you're looking towards writing even a DECENT book, you need to clean up your grammar. I can't even tell you how many times people have told me to check out their books, and I get really excited about reading it I really do, but I can't even get past the first paragraph of errors without wanting to shoot myself. I'm sorry, but grammar is a huge thing for me. If I can't fully enjoy the picture you are trying to paint without having to correct you every other sentence, then you need to really just re-evaluate your decisions in life.
